Hi there, I'm Hisham. I work at the United Nations, and I have a passion for building bridges between the tech sector and the international development and humanitarian sector. I have worked with local governments, grassroots orgs, tech companies, international orgs and the United Nations design and build solutions and programs to meet pressing social impact needs. I believe that tech, when designed with digital development principles at heart, can transform the world.

I am currently the Global Lead for Technology Partnerships at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR. I help inform the organization's digital engagement strategy and build partnerships with the tech sector in service of refugee populations. Prior to my current role, I was the Sr. Director of Private Sector Partnerships at World Food Program USA where I led a team that build partnerships for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The UN WFP is the world's largest humanitarian organization and the Nobel Peace Prize laureate for 2020. I also spent 6 incredible years at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) closing out my tenure as their Senior Officer for Global Technology Partnerships. I enjoy consulting on product and partnerships for some awesome tech for good startups like Tarjimly and Altru.
I'm fluent in technology, data, refugee resettlement and international development. Much of what I do is confidential, but you may have caught me speaking on The World, in the NYT, on BBC Arabic or at UC Berkeley. You can also get a sense of my scope by clicking on some of the logos below!
